Working with your dog
Gundog contests are held yearly in by official clubs, both in The Netherlands and abroad. During these 'club diploma days' and working tests dummies are used.
Standard tests during the club diploma days are taken on three different levels.
The 'working test' are not standard tests, but staged hunting situtaions in which one doesn't know what's going to happen. There are different levels of these as well.
To be able enter contests like these, you have to train your dog. This is in many cases a difficult problem. The question is: "to whom can I turn?". "is the training up to standard?" And of course: "Are both hunter and dog suitable?"
